I truly can’t believe that Brandon and I are getting married in 6 months! It is coming so fast and the plans are as well. There has been a tone of wedding plans going on and I was trying to think of a way to keep you all updated on everything going on with the wedding. I am going to be doing a short update every Wednesday and I am going to call it Wedding Wednesday!
I know that this is going to be a fun way to keep everyone up to date on what is going on and what kind of ideas I am thinking of.
You can tell a lot about a person by the type of wedding dress they choose. I know I personally would like my dress to have a few main features. I don’t know if I will be able to fit them all in my budget but you better believe that I am going to try.
Here are the top 5 things I am looking for in a wedding dress!
1. I am leaning towards more of a ball gown with a corset!

2. There has to be a lot of detail, beadwork and crystals. If you know me as all, I am all about the detail!

3. A tie up back would be so elegant and traditional.

4. I like the idea of a more straight neckline, it is simple and not too revealing.

5. I would love to have a dress with straps although 90% of wedding dresses don’t have them so I might have to settle for a cute cover-up for the wedding ceremony.

I have never been the kind of girl who obsessed over a wedding dress since I was a little girl. I have the type of personality where my mind changes all the time and I knew that by the time I got married my mind would change anyway and I was right. I must admit that not knowing what I wanted has made my search for my dress all the more fun!
Have been dreaming of your dress since you were little? Or are you more like me where you knew your mind would change and you didn’t dream up the perfect dress until you got engaged?
I love your ideas! I didn’t have a style saved since I was little but when I got married, almost 2 years ago, and I started looking I knew I wanted lace and a V back, so that’s all I searched for! Can’t wait for next weeks update! Congrats!!
I wasn’t planning on getting married as a little girl. I was going to be a journalist that traveled the world! I changed my mind about “the dress” throughout the process (I tried on 80 dresses at least at 5 different stores)I ended up with a dress that had intricate details (3-d daisies, roses, pearls, rhinestones, crystal beads, and pearls), a straightish to slight sweetheart neckline, a mermaidy skirts, and buttons down the back of my dress… I almost overlooked it because it didn’t have straps! The sales lady had the idea of adding tulle straps that could be gathered with crystal beads and pearls to make it look like it was suppose to be part of the dress.
*Remember that adding straps can be a fairly easy and cost effective alteration 🙂
I always thought I would have a lace wedding dress. I love them, and I had friends who looked beautiful in them! But then it was my turn, and when I tried on all lace, it looked awful on me! And then I didn’t want to consider a sweetheart neckline, but the sales lady talked me into trying it on. I loved it. I bought it. Definitely hold the “must haves” and “no ways” loosely. You might change your mind as you try them on!
Straps are a super easy modification. A corset back is a dream for any weight fluctuations before the ceremony. You can always tighten it up!
