Baby Johnson is on the way! Due April of 2015

As most of you probably know by now, especially if you follow me on any other social media site… I am so excited and happy to announce that Baby Johnson is not only on its way to meet everyone but is growing fast. I can’t believe that come April 2015 I will be able to meet my little one face to face!  Brandon and I couldn’t be happier about bringing a little one into this world and can’t wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!  Baby Announcement picture coming April 2015

I can’t tell you what was going through my head the moment I saw a positive sign on my pregnancy test! (Or should I say 4 tests, we just wanted to make sure that it was for real with no funny business) There is something so amazing about being responsible for another human life. The thought of knowing that someone that tiny depends on me, it is mind boggling! It truly is a miracle and I am excited to share my experience with all of you!

I hope that this post finds you well and I am looking forward to blogging once again!

Until next time,

My Favorite Moments of 2013!

First off I would like to wish everyone a happy new year!

I can’t believe that 2014 is already here. So much has happened in 2013 that I guess the entire year just flew by.

I would like to do a short recap of some of the rather large life occurrences that happened last year so just in case you missed any of them, you can check them out now!

I started working entirely from home:

As amazing as last year was. I know that this year is going to be even better. There is so much to look forward to and I am looking forward to sharing it all with you.

Is there anything in particular that you would like to see from me in 2014?

Our House Flooded!

First I would like to thank everyone for all of your support, comments and advice from my Johnson Home Tour.

What most of you don’t know is that 3 hours after signing the contract for our house, we walked into our new home full of water. Sometime in between our final walk through (which was a few days before. Keep in mind that this is just 6 days after our wedding and the night before our honeymoon) and us signing the contract a hose in the bathroom disconnected from the wall and was shooting out water like crazy.

Our plummer seems to think that the hose was shooting out water at about 3 gallons a minute for a solid day. Now get this, Brandon only took a long lunch to sign on the house and went right back to work. My Mother-in-law and I were the only 2 people present when arrived at the house and we had nothing to clean it up. So…. we had to call in some reserves: My family, Brandon’s family and our neighbors of about 3 hours to come and help us clean up our house. (Luckily we knew some of our neighbors prior to buying the place.)

Here come the good (bad) part. Do you remember when I washed my iPhone? Well all of the pictures from the flood were on there and I lost everything off of it. I hadn’t had the phone that long and I never set up my iCloud! So I only have 4 pictures from that day and that is only because I text them to my sister and she still had them.

So here they are: Our living room. We had to pull up the carpet that night.
Ripping up our carpeting

Once it was all out we had to put fans on it. I think we ended up having 10 to 15 fans going in the house at one time and 5 in this room alone.

Drying out our living room.

Our basement: The water was dripping from the ceiling for a couple of hours while we tried to clean it all up. You can also see the stairs going up had padding on it….

… and all of that had to come off because it was soaked. As well as the drywall.

Water down the stairs

After the water settled down a little, my neighbors helped me clean out the vents throughout the basement because they were full of water as well.

Need less to say, we didn’t get done cleaning the house until 11:30 and in bed until after midnight and we had to get up at 3 for our flight the next day. But that is a whole other story for a different day.

I just can’t get over the fact that hours after closing we walked into that… have you ever heard of such a thing? Did anything crazy like this happen to you or someone you know?

I Washed My iPhone

Every story has a beginning and my started one afternoon after a long morning of clients and then shopping. I brought all of the bags home and placed them on my bed, along with an almost empty double insulated cup of energy tea. It wasn’t long before I noticed the tea had fallen over and spilled all over the bed.

So…. Naturally I would have to take off the sheets and throw them in the laundry. I would say about 5 minutes later I realized I couldn’t find my phone anywhere. After calling it a number of times, it dawned on me. The last place I used it was in my room and I set it on the bed. I ran down stairs opened the top loader washer and stuck my hand in praying that it wasn’t in there. After moving it around for a while, I felt something hard. I knew what I had done! I had washed my brand new white iPhone 5 in the washer with the sheets.

Did I mention that was the phone my Husband of less than a month had given me for my birthday? After days of it in a zip-lock bag of rice, I took to it to Verizon store to see if it would work. Not only did it not work but it was completely fried to the point where they couldn’t get anything off of it. Plus I never turned on my iCloud so I lost all of the pictures on the phone from the most important and eventful month of my life. RIP iPhone 5

I shared my tragic news on my facebook page and apparently I am not the only one who has gotten their phone wet in some way, shape or form. Although no one fried their’s quite like I did.

So… I paid the deductible and had them send me a new phone. I love my husband for knowing me so well and for being so understanding (even before I sobbed my whole story to him) He bought insurance when he bought the phone. And to top it all off, they sent me a black iPhone instead of the white one like I had. Just my luck.

Now I have to ask, have you ever got your phone wet? If so did it fry the whole phone or am I still the only one?

Until next time…
