Professional Side Ponytail {2 Minute Style with Video}

There are so many days out of the summer where I like to wear my hair up or off of my neck. This is one of the easiest and fastest styles that I know.

This is one of my go to styles that takes less than 2 minutes.  It is so easy that anyone could achieve this style.

A Professional Side Ponytail

Here is a short video showing you just how I achieve this style in under 2 minutes.

You are only going to need 3 things to complete this hairstyle: A comb, a clear elastic and a bobby pin. First you need to tease your hair and pull it all off to one side.

Take your clear elastic and secure your hair

Take your clear elastic and tie it around your hair.

Secure your hair with an elastic hair tie

After it is secure, separate  the ponytail in half and pull them in opposite directions to tighten then ponytail.

ta da... you have a side ponytail

Once you have your hair pony in place, use the back of your teasing comb to lift up the hair away from the head.  I love to have extra volume!

Pull some of your hair up for extra volmue

Last but not least, take a small section of hair from the ponytail, wrap it around the clear elastic and secure with a bobby pin.

I hope that this helps and that it makes sense. Do you find yourself running out of quick hair styles and end up wearing the same old ponytail every single day?

Homemade Hair Bands

Who will agree with me that a women can not seem to get more than a few uses out of her tights before something happens to them? They always seem to snag on something or get a whole in them where they can no longer be used. I thought to myself there has to be something else I can do with these tights besides just throwing them away.

Before I knew it I ended up with an entire bag of ruined tights. I then remembered someone once telling me that you can use them for many different things including hair bands. So I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. I always seem to lose my hair bands and this was free to make my own. Win-Win!

Turn Your Ruined Tights Into Hair Bands

Here is a short video showing you just what I did to make them.

Will someone please tell me that I am not the only person that misplaces small hair accessories? I will either lend them to someone with no intention of getting them back or I just flat out leave them in places they don’t belong and forget where I put them. Either way I find myself always buying more each time I am at the store.

I didn't know you could make your own hair bands out of old tights!

Once you are all done turning your tights into hair bands you are going to need a place to put them all so you won’t lose them like I use too. I like to store mine on a Mason Jar turned upside-down.  They fit on there perfect and you will never lose them.

What a great idea, Store you hair bands on an old, upsidedown mason jarThis is a great way to keep your hair or bangs out of your face! Wearing My Home Made Hair Band to keep my hair out of my face

Do you find yourself in the same situation I was in? Do you think this will help you to be able to not only reuse your tights but save money as well? What else do you do with your old tights? I would love for you to share or even post a link.

Thanks for reading.

A Poofy Ponytail Made Easy

When I look at someone wearing their hair in a poofy ponytail I immediately think of fun and flirty. It is the type of hair style that says “Oh this old hair style? I only wear this when I don’t care how I look” and yet they worked pretty hard to get their hair to look like that.  I remember the first time I saw someone with their hair in a poofy pony and I wanted to know how to do that. So naturally, being the type of personality I am, I went ahead with out a doubt in my mind that I would get it right the first time.  Well, maybe the second or third. Fine, it took me a while to figure out how to master that style. Although now that I have mastered the poofy ponytail with a few simple steps, I have decided to share with you what I wish I knew then.

My hair was curly today although you can achieve the same style on straight hair.
