Side Bang, Pin Back Poof Using Just 1 Bobby Pin {Video}

I can’t tell you how many times in my life I have always gone back to some sort of side bang. I try to grow them and I always seem to cut them again.

Bangs and side bangs are awesome for so many reasons; I love how they can frame out a face and can change up a style without being too dramatic.  They look good styled up and down. You can also style them with curly hair or strait hair.

One of my favorite ways to style my bangs is in this pin back poof. It is the easiest way to style your bangs and anyone can achieve this poof with only one bobby pin… Yes you read that right, only one bobby pin!

I Got Married {My Wedding}

I am so excited to announce to all of you that on September 7th, 2013 Brandon and I became Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Johnson! That’s right I am now officially Elisabeth Johnson!

Brandon and I had been dating for 2 years before he proposed. We then had a year to plan the wedding before we said our wedding vows. Little did we know just how much time and energy it would take to finalize all of the finishing details on the wedding. I took pictures and documented every detail that went into the wedding so I can share it all with you.

Here are some of the final results of the DIY projects that went into the wedding along with a quick recap of the day.

Giedre from Walking Dot Photography did an amazing job capturing all of the details of the day. You have to check her out and if you live in the Chicago land area, you have to give her a call and set something up. Or if you are every just passing through, you won’t be disappointed! You can also check out more the pictures from out big day Here!

The way I look at a wedding, it is the biggest and most fun party that you are ever going to through with all of your friends and family. Now marriage, that is a completely different thing. Brandon and I not only prepared for the wedding but for the Sacrament of Marriage as well. I will go into more details about that later but I am officially restarting my Wedding Wednesdays! I am going to start from the beginning on every single detail for planning a wedding!

I didn’t want to post all of the pictures beforehand because I wanted everything to be a surprise for all of my guest as many of them read my blog and would have known everything I was doing. So now that the wedding is over and married life has started I can now share all of my secrets with all of you.

Sock Bun

When I first saw the sock bun, I must say that I wasn’t that impressed. I didn’t know what the big deal was. To me, it just looked like a big bun on top of your head. Then,, after I learned how to achieve a good sock bun I can see now that it is still a big bun on the top of your head, lol. Although It is very cute and comfortable. You can make it look like a perfect ballerina bun or you can do the opposite and have a more controlled messy look.

With my hair being curly I went with a more messy look today but don’t worry, you can still get the same or a similar look with straight hair.

How to Style a Simple Messy Bun with Braids

I am pretty sure that the summer of 2012 is going to go down in history as being one of the hottest summers. With over 40 consecutive days of being over 90 degrees and going on 10 weeks of no rain, you can only image why this summer is record breaking. Since it has been so hot I have been trying to put my hair up in all different ways to make it look nicer than a normal ponytail. On those really hot days I like to wear my hair up and off of my neck to help keep me cooler.

Here is a video of a hair style I have been wearing on some of the really hot days during the summer.

I love how simple this style looks.
