Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer to Fall {My Style}

I don’t know if you ever put as much thought into this as I have, but it is important to know how to transition your wardrobe from one season to another. In Chicago, summer is a very bright and warm/Hot season. Everyone wears what I like to call “Happy Colors” (I will do a post on those later but for now they are just bright and cheerful).

As for  fall, it is completely different. The temperature is cool and crisp, it is the time of year that we have to bring out all of the long sleeve shirts and long pants. The color palate seems to change dramatically, it consist of mainly dark and neutral color tones.

When you are going from one season to another, you need to be able to mix the two seasons together. Since I never really want summer to end, (don’t get me wrong I love all four seasons and I am so thankful I live in a part of the world that gets to enjoy all different types of weather) I tend to drag out each season as long as possible.  I like to wear bright colors as long as possible.

Here I have a long green and white Maxi dress, with a white long sleeved cardigan cinched at the waist with a thick white belt and a pair of white summer sandals. With keeping the colors light and bright yet adding the long sleeves and a Maxi this outfit is perfect for a cool and crisp summer afternoon.

I love when dresses have pockets. Green Maxi and white sweater

Adding a belt to a mazi dress is the perfect way to cinch your waist. Flat sandles with a maxi dress is the cutest. I love mazi dresses! I love the soft curl of these side bangs. I love these side bangs and how they have a soft curl

It is very important that you give yourself shape while wearing a maxi dress. It is so easy to loose your shape because of the way they are designed. This dress is a strapless rectangle shaped dress and if I don’t add a belt, it makes me look boxy.

Do you live in a area where you have all four seasons?

If so do you enjoy dressing for each of them?

What would you say is your favorite season and why?
