DIY Leg Warmers In Less Than a Minute!

When it comes to winter I can’t stand the cold weather, although living in the Chicago area you have no choice. Winter comes every year and there is nothing you can do about it, except prepare for it!  I am the queen of bundling up: leg warmers, scarfs, coats. You name it and I have about ten of them. When you are out of the house my theory is “You can always take layers off, but you can’t put more on”!

Now that I have made my point that I like to layer in the winter, I want to share with you one of my favorite layering tricks. I LOVE wearing leg warmers to help keep my leg extra warm and to make my outfits look nicer. Although I am not a fan of the generic looking leg warmers, the ones that all look the same except in different colors. My Sister-In-Law reminded me of an old trick I once knew about turning your old sweaters into leg warmers. It is super easy and takes less than a minute!

this was easier than I thought and took less than 1 minute

Here is a video showing you just how I made these leg warmers.

You only need an old sweater and fabric scissors.

Turn an old sweater into leg warmers

Hold out one sleeve nice and straight.

Use an old sweater sleeve to make leg warmers

Cut from the under arm area to the top of the sleeve.

Cut the arm off your old sweater sleeve to make your own leg warmersDo the same to the other side. That is all there is to it.

DIY leg warmers out of old sweater sleevesI love the idea of making your own leg warmers out of old sweater sleeves.

I love all the different kinds of leg warmers

Do you wear leg warmers in the winter? I have something extra special for you so I will ask you only one thing. Make sure you don’t throw away the torso part of your sweater, I have a surprise for you coming next week. I know you are going to love it, so make sure you subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss a thing!

Until next time:

Writing My Christmas Cards

I can’t believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I feel like thanksgiving was yesterday and Halloween was the day before that. I don’t know where the time is going. It is crazy!

I am not not sure if I told you but I had my wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago and I had to stay in bed for a few day. I am so glad I utilized my time as well as I did. Otherwise I would not have had time to write all of my Christmas cards this year.

There is something so special about walking out to the mail box around Christmas time. Just the thought of opening it up and finding Christmas cards with your name on it. I don’t know what it is, maybe it is the child in me coming out but I absolutely love it. I don’t know if everyone feels the same way that I do but when I write a card I hope it brings back a piece of their childhood or at least a good Christmas memory.

I love mating the ink of the pen with the color of the christmas card!

I love sitting down with a BIG cup or tea while I write my cards.

You can’t forget the Christmas music in the back ground. It really gets you in the Christmas Spirit!

There is something special about getting a Personalized Christmas Card in the mail!

This year I also included a cookie recipe that I thought everyone would enjoy!

Praline Strips

Do you still write Christmas cards? Are you like me and love the thought of getting some in the mail?
