Peanut Butter Protein Blobs

Finding snacks that are healthy isn’t easy and getting kids to eat greens is that much harder! These peanut butter blobs are packed with protein, organic greens and are definitely a must try! My kids not only loved them but gobbled them up so fast that I had to make more!

The recipe is so simple that anyone can make them!
You will need:
3 Scoops of Life Shake
5 C Rice Crispy Cereal
In a sauce pan on medium heat combined the peanut butter, coconut oil, honey, life shake and greens. Stir until cream then remove from heat.
In a large bowl add the all 5 cups of the rice crispys and pour peanut butter mixture on top of the cereal. Mix with a rubble/silicone spatula until the cereal is evenly coated.
Use a cookie Scoop to place blobs on wax coated cookie tray. chill until the coconut oil re-hardens then enjoy!
I would love to know how you get your kids to eat more greens and what type of healthy snacks you guys like to munch on?

Healthy and Green Mac’N’Cheese

Before I begin this post I wanted to start by saying that we almost never have Mac and Cheese but if we do, we always turn it into more of tuna casserole type of a dish. I always try to find a healthier option of a unhealthy dish.
For today (in honor of St Patrick’s Day and the first day of Spring) I wanted to make something fun and green. So I went ahead and came up with this little number!
It is delicious and totally kid friendly. You can hardly taste a difference and I used 3 scoops of the powdered greens. I will admit that my kiddos aren’t afraid of the color green but if you need to make it sound more fun, say it is green for spring, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter or any other fun thing you can think of.
You will need:
1 Box of SimplyNature Organic Mac and Cheese (I used a box of white cheddar and I swapped out the butter for SimplyNature coconut oil and used whole milk.)
1-3 Tablespoons of Nutritional Yeast (This is optional and I recommend starting with 1 T then work up to more. I add this for extra nutrients and extra protein. Braggs is my favorite brand and that is why I linked it.)
1 Can of tuna in water
1 Cup of Green Peas (I used frozen,)
1-3 Scoops of Shaklee Organic Greens Booster (I used 3 scoops for extra veggies and for a nice green color)
Diretions:
This a super quick and a somewhat healthier option compared to regular Mac’n’Cheese. Make sure you choose a brand of Mac’n’Cheese that is free of harmful ingredients, colors and preservatives or make it home made!
Start by making the Mac’n’Cheese as it says on the box.  Once the Mac’n’Cheese is finished, and while the pasta is still hot, I recommend a adding in the greens and nutritional yeast. Stir well until it is smooth and creamy. Then add in the tuna and peas. Keep it on the burner on low until everything is warm. You may need a little more milk depending on the consistency you like.

I personally love Shaklee’s Organic Greens Booster for so many reasons but mainly because I know and understand Shaklee’s amazing quality standers. The do over 100,000 quality tests every single year to insure their purity and potency of every product they produce. Plus 1 tiny scoop of their greens gives you equivalent to 1 cup of raw Spinach, Kale and Broccoli. Can I get a Woohoo!!!
Just think how amazing this could be for a mom with picky eaters, its a great way to “sneak” in some extra greens into so many things. Add one scoop or more to your favorite Life Energizing Shake or other beverage and try it in foods such as soups, stews or pasta.  The possibilities are almost endless.

There are so many reasons to love SimplyNature products as well but what I love most is that they are free of 125 artificial ingredients and preservatives! Plus most of their products are organic as well!
I hope that you love this recipe as much as I do and I would love to know how your little kiddos love it as well!
Thank you for reading!

Healthy Shamrock Shake

First off let me be the first to say Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Is there anything better than waking up on St Patrick’s Day to a delicious and health “Shamrock Shake”? This is an amazing recipe that makes this protein packed smoothie taste just like a shamrock shake! It is so refreshing and it taste too good to be healthy!

You will need:

  • 8 oz Milk
  • 2 – 4 Scoops of Shaklee Vanilla Life Shake (Depending on if this is a snack or a meal for 2)
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 2 Hand fulls of Spinach or Kale (I usually like to buy it fresh and than freeze it. It blends so much better when it is frozen)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Peppermint Extract
  • Stevia to taste
  • Ice as needed (I usually use 4ish cubs)

Blend and enjoy! I usually blended the smoothie a few times to make sure that all of the spinach and kale is nice and smoothie without any little pieces! Makes 2 Servings *Homemade whip cream is just for show 🙂

I know that this smoothie is a staple around here because we all love it so much! I would love to know what you think of it? Does it past the taste test of a Shamrock Shake?

Protein Puppy Chow {Recipe}

I don’t know if you guys have the same problem as I do, but sometimes it is hard to find healthy snacks that kids will eat. My good friend Sarah Solomon came up with the idea about making puppy chow healthy. Which is pure genius! I loved her recipe, although I ended up tweaking the recipe just a bit! I am excited to say that we have perfected it!

Here is a quick Video showing you just how to make it! It takes less than 5 minutes to make and it taste amazing!

What you will need!

Ingredients for chocolate sauce:
1/4 Coconut Oil
1/4 Dark Chocolate
1/2 Peanut Butter
1 scoop Chocolate Life Shake

Ingredients for powdered topping:

1 scoop Chocolate Life Shake
2 scoops Bavarian Cocoa Meal Shake

In a saucepan combine the following ingredients and melt while stirring constantly until melted. Make sure you taste it first, just to make sure its child approved 😉

Than in a large bowl add 9 cups of Chex cereal.   Pour melted mixture over the cereal.

Stir until the cereal is evenly coated. Then, sprinkle 1 scoop of chocolate life shake over the chocolate covered cereal while stirring to spread evenly.

Do the same thing with the Bavarian Cocoa Meal Shake for 2 more scoops! Add more if desired!

This is seriously a delicious and healthy treat! Magdalena and Brandon love this!

You can put them in little individual mason jars so they are ready for quick and convenient snacks!

I know that we love this recipe, but I would love to hear from you guys? Have you tried it, do you like it?
