Rainbow Flash Mob – Green

So some of you might have heard about the rainbow flash mob (#RainbowFlashMob) that has been going on… Well I got tagged with the color green from my sister- in-law Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters. All you have to do is be given a color and find anything of that color around the house. Then share it on facebook, instagram, twitter or your blog so that others can join in the fun!

So I went ahead and found a number of green things that I already had around the house! So here’s what I found:

Rainbowflashmob

You don’t have to say what everything is, I just thought it would be fun for all of you to see what I have around the house and why!

1. Stevia Plant – Stevia is a natural sweetener and I love to put it in my infused waters or freeze it in ice cubes and put it in your lemon aid.

2. Lime – My husband is an amazing cocktail drink maker. I call him the “Mix Master” and we always have limes on hand just incase he needs them for his drinks!

3. Vera Bradley Purse – For years my grandma would buy me one Vera a year. So I have many different shapes and color purses from her.

4. Get Clean Basic H2 –  This is basically my number 1 go to cleaning product! It does absolutely everything and it is organic, super cleaning and extremely concentrate. Plus it is only pennies per bottle!

5. Kiwi – I always loved kiwis growing up although I hadn’t had them in a long time and they were on sale this week, so I bought them! I am so glad that I did because it brought back so many great memories!

6. Shaklee 180 Energizing Green Tea – Between this and the Pomegranate Tea I don’t know how I would get through each day! It helps give me the energy that I need without the crash at the end of the day without any jitters. (Cutting hair and jitters don’t go well together)

7. ProSante Finishing Spray – This is one of my favorite hair sprays. I use it as a root lifter when the hair is wet and then again as a finishing pray when the hair is dry! I have to mention that I do use and love the whole ProSante Hair Care Line and I use it on all of my clients!

8. Celery – Everyone should know that celery is a huge calorie burner and that it take more calories to burn off than celery itself! I always have it in the fridge!

9. Billy’s Bootcamp Workout – I can’t tell you how many random workout videos I have laying around the house! I am so glad that I now use the Burst workout program! It comes free with your Turnaround or Lean and Healthy Kit and it is right on your phone so you always have it at the palm of your hand!

10. Metal Scrubby – I love using this scrubby with my Sour Off Heavy Duty Past! It helps me clean things as hard as rusty or soap scum.

11. Beaded Bracelet – This is actually a necklace that I just wrap around my wrist to make it into a bracelet!

12. Dangle Earrings – I can’t tell you how long I have has these earrings. I actually forgot that I had them!

13. Necklace – I bought this necklace when I was in Ireland back in 2008

14. OPI Nail Polish – This is only one of my many colors! I love OPI for all of my pedicures!

15. The Shaklee Effect Pin – Shaklee has been around for almost 60 years and everyone that has used their products know that it has had some great effect on their life. This pin just indicates that I am part of the effect! You can read my whole weight loss story here and how Shaklee has effected my life!

16. Guest Bath Room Hand Towel – I love bright light colors so when I chose the colors for all of the small room I made sure they were bright and welcoming!

17. Head of Roman Lettuce – Brandon and I have a salad every single day, so lettuce is always a must around here! Random fact, I will always choose Roman over Iceberg lettuce. 🙂

So there you have it! I will be honest, I actually had a lot of fun hunting around the house looking for green colors!

If you want to play along just comment below and I will give you a color and you can join in the fun!

Happy hunting!

DIY Christmas Gift Tags

Christmas comes but once a year, which means it will come again next year.

Each and every year I get so many beautiful cards from all of my friends and family. I hate the thought of throwing them out after Christmas is over although I just can’t keep them all.

A few years ago I had the idea of reusing the cards by making them into gift tags. It worked out so nicely that I have been doing it ever since.

So naturally, I wanted to share my idea with you.

DIY Christmas Tags from old Christmas cards. Here are the some of the cards that I will use to turn into tags.

Turn your old christmas cards into gift tags
You will only need your old Christmas cards and a tag punch. (I got mine from Michael’s)

Make your own Christmas Tag from Last Years Cards
I love that you can use any card or color to get all different types of tags.

I love this idea of making your own Chrtisam Tags out of your old cards
First you will need to line up your card in the center of your tag punch.

Center your card just the way your would like your tag.

When you have it lined up just the way you like it, press your fingers and thumb together.

Once you have it centered, push the handle and punch the pard

The last thing you need to do is side the tag out of the punch.

Let the Tag slide out of the punch and you are done

It is as easy as 1, 2, 3. (Card, Cut, Tag.)

This is such a cool idea! I love it
They turn out perfect every single time.

DIY Christmas Tags

This is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to make Christmas gift tags.

Does this seem like something that you would be able to do?

Now all I need to do is finish my wrapping!!

We Bought a House! {The Johnson Home Tour}

We bought a house!

I thought that this day would never come. Brandon and I have been looking at houses since January 2013. With many fallen through offers on many different house, Fanny May finally excepted our offer on this house back on May 15, 2013. Being a for-closer home we knew that this house would take a little longer to close, although we never expected it to take this long.

On September 13 (which happens to be Friday the 13th) and just 6 short days after our wedding, Brandon and I became home owners to this beautiful house. Okay, maybe beautiful isn’t quite the word that describes this house quite yet. The previous home owners couldn’t leave without throwing a few, what looks like, wild parties.

Besides just taking a long time to close we also knew that this house would be a fixer-upper and that we would have to put a little extra hard work into this house to make it a home. Although I have to say that I am totally in love with this house and it has so much potential not to mention that it is also on a acre lot (Lot A) which pretty much sold us right then and there.

Our house 1

We love having the big yard for extra privacy, outdoor parties, bon-fires, camp outs  and a huge garden come the spring.

Our House 2

This is a 2 story colonial style house with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and it is just over 2000 square feet. Plus is has an unfinished basement that has 9 foot ceilings and is just over 1000 square feet in its self.

From the main entrance off to the right, this is a full living room and dinning room.

20131015-152852.jpg

Here is the dinning room and living room facing towards the front door.

20131015-152905.jpg

Just off the dinning room is a full kitchen with an eating area and a floating island.

20131015-152913.jpg

Off the kitchen is a connecting family room with a stone fire place.

20131015-152921.jpg

The main floor also has a laundry room (not shown), a closet (not shown) and this powder room.

20131015-152927.jpg

Straight up the stairs is the first bedroom (aka – the salon room)

20131015-152941.jpg

Kiddie-corner  from the salon room is the second bedroom (aka – the office).

20131015-152947.jpg

Right across from the office is the guest bathroom.

20131015-152953.jpg

Down the hall and to the right is the 3rd bedroom (aka – the guestroom and eventually a baby’s room)

20131015-152958.jpg

Last but not least is the 4th and final bedroom (aka – the master suite) with His and Her closets as well as a extra linen closet and vaulted ceilings.

20131015-153006.jpg

The master bath also has His and Her sinks as well as a skylight, which I love all of the natural light when I am getting ready in the morning.

20131015-153011.jpg

And to complete the tour, is the back of the house and our EXTREMELY HUGE DECK! 😉 lol I know we are going to have some wild parties on that deck, it is a great entertaining space.

There you have it, that is our Johnson Home Tour!

For being our first place, I couldn’t be happier! This is a lot to do when it comes to fixing the place up be we are young and up for the challenge.
