I Got Married {My Wedding}

I am so excited to announce to all of you that on September 7th, 2013 Brandon and I became Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Johnson! That’s right I am now officially Elisabeth Johnson!

Brandon and I had been dating for 2 years before he proposed. We then had a year to plan the wedding before we said our wedding vows. Little did we know just how much time and energy it would take to finalize all of the finishing details on the wedding. I took pictures and documented every detail that went into the wedding so I can share it all with you.

Here are some of the final results of the DIY projects that went into the wedding along with a quick recap of the day.

Giedre from Walking Dot Photography did an amazing job capturing all of the details of the day. You have to check her out and if you live in the Chicago land area, you have to give her a call and set something up. Or if you are every just passing through, you won’t be disappointed! You can also check out more the pictures from out big day Here!

The way I look at a wedding, it is the biggest and most fun party that you are ever going to through with all of your friends and family. Now marriage, that is a completely different thing. Brandon and I not only prepared for the wedding but for the Sacrament of Marriage as well. I will go into more details about that later but I am officially restarting my Wedding Wednesdays! I am going to start from the beginning on every single detail for planning a wedding!

I didn’t want to post all of the pictures beforehand because I wanted everything to be a surprise for all of my guest as many of them read my blog and would have known everything I was doing. So now that the wedding is over and married life has started I can now share all of my secrets with all of you.

Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer to Fall {My Style}

I don’t know if you ever put as much thought into this as I have, but it is important to know how to transition your wardrobe from one season to another. In Chicago, summer is a very bright and warm/Hot season. Everyone wears what I like to call “Happy Colors” (I will do a post on those later but for now they are just bright and cheerful).

As for  fall, it is completely different. The temperature is cool and crisp, it is the time of year that we have to bring out all of the long sleeve shirts and long pants. The color palate seems to change dramatically, it consist of mainly dark and neutral color tones.

When you are going from one season to another, you need to be able to mix the two seasons together. Since I never really want summer to end, (don’t get me wrong I love all four seasons and I am so thankful I live in a part of the world that gets to enjoy all different types of weather) I tend to drag out each season as long as possible.  I like to wear bright colors as long as possible.

Here I have a long green and white Maxi dress, with a white long sleeved cardigan cinched at the waist with a thick white belt and a pair of white summer sandals. With keeping the colors light and bright yet adding the long sleeves and a Maxi this outfit is perfect for a cool and crisp summer afternoon.

I love when dresses have pockets. Green Maxi and white sweater

Adding a belt to a mazi dress is the perfect way to cinch your waist. Flat sandles with a maxi dress is the cutest. I love mazi dresses! I love the soft curl of these side bangs. I love these side bangs and how they have a soft curl

It is very important that you give yourself shape while wearing a maxi dress. It is so easy to loose your shape because of the way they are designed. This dress is a strapless rectangle shaped dress and if I don’t add a belt, it makes me look boxy.

Do you live in a area where you have all four seasons?

If so do you enjoy dressing for each of them?

What would you say is your favorite season and why?

Mint and White Summer Outfit {My Style}

With summer coming to an end I am trying to wear the last of my summer outfits before I have to bust out my fall wardrobe.

I can’t believe how fast summer has come and gone. I feel like is has just started and yet the leaves have already started to turn colors. I understand I am few weeks behind so that just mean you are going to be seeing a whole lot more of me until I catch up. Believe me, it will be worth the wait. So much has happened that I just can’t keep it all to myself.

This is one of the outfits that I wore when I was down in Nashville for the Shaklee Healthy Competition that I won. I feel like it is the perfect summer outfit for a few reasons: It is a simple yet fun outfit. It looks like you tried really hard when really it was just something you through together. I love the white shorts and the mint colored top. (If you cant tell I love wearing mint in the summer it makes my tan pop just a little more. I love my Mint Mullet Dress that I wore here) My hair was rockin a few loose curl, some simple accessories and to tie everything together I wore mint colored lace flats.

This is such a cute and casual outfitThese lace mint flats are so cute! This hair to beautiful! The Mint colored shirt, the white shorts and the beautiful back ground

Also it just so happens that this extremely cute building was were my photo-shoot was in. I loved staying at the Gay Lord Opry-Land Hotel in Nashville. It was absolutely amazing!!!

I had a great time with Shaklee and I can’t wait to see all of the footage that they took of me while I was there. I will share it as I get it.

Do you like to wear color mint as much as I do? Or maybe you have a different favorite color that you would like to share with me.

P.S. I am officially Mrs. Elisabeth Johnson!

Mullet Dress? {My Style}

It can’t be possible that it has been three weeks since Blogher in Chicago. This mint mullet dress completes my 3 outfit city series. I first wore my Pretty in Pink Dress and then my Simple and Sleek Grey Dress.

You might be wondering why I call this dress my mullet dress. Well… it is party in the front and business in the back. Don’t get me wrong, I am in love with this style dress. But you have to admit, it does looks like a mullet.

Like I said last week, dresses are my thing. I ware them 9 time out of 10 when I am going on a date with Brandon, out with friends and almost every other special occasion. Sometime I ask Brandon to take me out somewhere just  so I can get all dressed up (It is a good thing he doesn’t mind getting all dresses up with me).

This is the most amazing dress ever!!! I love the mint color

For this look I wanted a quick and easy hairstyle. (Tutorial to come)

I want this mint colored dress

I promise it is easier than it looks: at conference you need a style that is quick and easy.

This is an amazing hairstyle that only takes 5 minutes to style

I added a pearl necklace…

I love this necklace with this mint dress... so cute!

… and few other pearl accessories.

Adding simple jewelry to a mint dress, I love it!

I then completed the look with some strappy white heals. I don’t know if you remember but these are the same ones that I wore in my first outfit.

It is easy to duplicate shoes when you are traveling. Most of the time your shoes can be very versatile and will go with more than one outfit anyways.

Again all of the credit of these beautiful photos go to Emily (Freckled-Fox.com).

I just have to mention that I am completely obsessed with the color mint! It is such a beautiful color and I love they way it brings out my tan.

Is there a color you love to wear? Maybe a color that brings out your eyes or one of your favorite features about yourself?
