I Washed My iPhone

Every story has a beginning and my started one afternoon after a long morning of clients and then shopping. I brought all of the bags home and placed them on my bed, along with an almost empty double insulated cup of energy tea. It wasn’t long before I noticed the tea had fallen over and spilled all over the bed.

So…. Naturally I would have to take off the sheets and throw them in the laundry. I would say about 5 minutes later I realized I couldn’t find my phone anywhere. After calling it a number of times, it dawned on me. The last place I used it was in my room and I set it on the bed. I ran down stairs opened the top loader washer and stuck my hand in praying that it wasn’t in there. After moving it around for a while, I felt something hard. I knew what I had done! I had washed my brand new white iPhone 5 in the washer with the sheets.

Did I mention that was the phone my Husband of less than a month had given me for my birthday? After days of it in a zip-lock bag of rice, I took to it to Verizon store to see if it would work. Not only did it not work but it was completely fried to the point where they couldn’t get anything off of it. Plus I never turned on my iCloud so I lost all of the pictures on the phone from the most important and eventful month of my life. RIP iPhone 5

I shared my tragic news on my facebook page and apparently I am not the only one who has gotten their phone wet in some way, shape or form. Although no one fried their’s quite like I did.

So… I paid the deductible and had them send me a new phone. I love my husband for knowing me so well and for being so understanding (even before I sobbed my whole story to him) He bought insurance when he bought the phone. And to top it all off, they sent me a black iPhone instead of the white one like I had. Just my luck.

Now I have to ask, have you ever got your phone wet? If so did it fry the whole phone or am I still the only one?

Until next time…

Can Your Cell Phone Cause Acne?

Did you know that your cell phone can cause facial acne?

If you are anything like me, then most days you are on the phone more times than not. I talk to clients, members, family and friends. It is a good thing I have unlimited talk, text and data otherwise I would have more problems than just unwanted acne.

For the most part my skin is pretty clear, I love to take care of my skin and wash it daily with an amazing product line. So whenever something does appear on my face I can usually find out where it came from. There are a few different reasons why acne can appear and I know that holding a dirty cell phone is one of those reason.

Keep your cell phone clean to keep un wanted acne away

Think about it, you use your cell phone daily and bring it with you everywhere you go. It not only picks up the dirt and dust from your purse or pants but also the oils from your skin. Then without even thinking about it, we place it up to our cheek and hold it there for as  long as we need. Sometimes the screen even gets warm and starts to heat up and cause irritation to the skin. Pretty gross, huh?

If you don't keep your cell phone clean you will start to see acne on your face from it

My mom would always make these hand wipes that we would use around the house. They are made with Basic H (an all natural cleaner) and I love to use this to wipe off my cell phone with. It is amazing the difference it has made since I started cleaning off my phone with these wipes.

They are so easy to make and save you a lot of money. I also use these wipes when I clean the salt off my boots in the winter. The best all natural home made handy wipes that will save you money

Have you ever had acne on your face and have been able to pin point in down to how it came about? I would love hear some of the other thing that have caused you to break out so I can try to avoid those things as well.

Thanks for following along.

Designing My Wedding Center Pieces {Using Clear Wine Bottles}

With the wedding only four and a half months away I feel like there is still so much to do. I know that I am going to have a ton of DIY things for the reception since I want to make sure that everything is cost efficient. Ok, and because I want everything to be perfect and just what I have envisioned.

Pinterest has been a great help with all of my planning so far! It has helped me decide so many things, for instance: My wedding color scheme along with some of my other Wedding ideas.

Although today I am going to need a little bit of your help. I can’t decide what I want to do with all of these clear glass wine bottles. My Mom and Dad were down at a winery in Missouri, where they picked up a couple dozen empty clear wine bottles that I can use for the wedding. A whole box of empty wine bottles

So naturally I would go on pinterest to see what kind of DIY’s I could come up with for clear wine glasses. These were my favorites:

This one I cold even use all of the corks I have been collecting.

Meanwhile, I had to get these bottles in shape for the wedding. I needed to remove the tops and the labels off of all of them. I thought it would take hours because there were so many.

I love old Wine Bottles

I filled up our sink with hot water and put a quarter of a teaspoon of Basic H into the tub and let them soak for 10 minutes.

Put some Basic H in a Hot Tub of water to help get the lables off easly

To my surprise all of the labels came right off! Thank you Basic H!

I am so glad it only took me 10 minutes to get all of these cleaned and not a couple of hours like I thought it would.

So after all of that work, the question still stands: What do you think I should do with all of these wine bottles? I just can’t make up my mind.

Cleaning Your Winter Boots

I have been talking a lot about Chicago winters and how they take a toll everything. I would have to say that my winter boots take the biggest toll of all. The amount of salt that is laid on the ground to melt the snow is more than enough to to wreck my boots and I don’t take care of them the way I know I should.

How to get salt off your winter boots with DIY wipes.

Here is a short video showing you exactly what I do to not only clean off my boots but to keep them clean as well.

How to get salt off your boots in winter.

My mom (From Parents Of A Dozen) has a great video showing you just how we make these organic handy wipes using an all natural house hold cleaner. I have been using these wipes around my house of over 10 years now and I will never go back to store bought wipes again.

Are your boots having a rough time with all of this winter salt? Do you even live in place where there is salt because the snow is never ending?
