DIY Leg Warmers In Less Than a Minute!

When it comes to winter I can’t stand the cold weather, although living in the Chicago area you have no choice. Winter comes every year and there is nothing you can do about it, except prepare for it!  I am the queen of bundling up: leg warmers, scarfs, coats. You name it and I have about ten of them. When you are out of the house my theory is “You can always take layers off, but you can’t put more on”!

Now that I have made my point that I like to layer in the winter, I want to share with you one of my favorite layering tricks. I LOVE wearing leg warmers to help keep my leg extra warm and to make my outfits look nicer. Although I am not a fan of the generic looking leg warmers, the ones that all look the same except in different colors. My Sister-In-Law reminded me of an old trick I once knew about turning your old sweaters into leg warmers. It is super easy and takes less than a minute!

this was easier than I thought and took less than 1 minute

Here is a video showing you just how I made these leg warmers.

You only need an old sweater and fabric scissors.

Hold out one sleeve nice and straight.

Use an old sweater sleeve to make leg warmers

Cut from the under arm area to the top of the sleeve.

Cut the arm off your old sweater sleeve to make your own leg warmersDo the same to the other side. That is all there is to it.

I love all the different kinds of leg warmers

Do you wear leg warmers in the winter? I have something extra special for you so I will ask you only one thing. Make sure you don’t throw away the torso part of your sweater, I have a surprise for you coming next week. I know you are going to love it, so make sure you subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss a thing!

A Bit of Edge

In my personal opinion I think there are at least 10 essential items that one should have with in their wardrobe.  One of those 10 items should be a leather coat. A leather coat has a lot of class and can last forever if you take care of it the right way.

Here I am wearing a black leather coat with black skinnies, grey boots, a grey clutch, silver accessories and a black and grey scarf to tie the whole outfit together.

I also styled my hair to have these big loose curls that you see a lot of the movie stars wear. It is a lot easier to do than you would think. I will be posting about how it do this exact style so don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so it will be sent right to your email.

Do you have a leather jacket?
How do you take care of it?

Coordination Is Key!

One of the most important things to remember when picking out your clothes is making sure that they coordinate. No matter what colors you choose to wear, you will need to make sure that everything matches.  To really make things fun you can even add a pop of color!

One of my favorite things about clothes is being able to show your true style! I truly believe that you can tell a lot about one’s character through what they wear.

Black and grey are my two favorite coordinating colors!

Who Says Black and Brown Don’t Match

Lets talk about wearing the colors black and brown together.

If you were to ask 100 people if they thought that black and brown matched, I would guess that at least 50 of them would say the don’t match.

Well, I am one of the 50% that think it does!

As long as the black and brown are either both solids or accents colors, I know it will go very well.

Black goes with every other solid color so why not brown?

Just make sure that all of the different color browns are in the same tone family!

What are your thoughts on black and brown?

Do you think they match?

Have you ever worn the two colors together?
