I Got Married {My Wedding}

I am so excited to announce to all of you that on September 7th, 2013 Brandon and I became Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Johnson! That’s right I am now officially Elisabeth Johnson!

Brandon and I had been dating for 2 years before he proposed. We then had a year to plan the wedding before we said our wedding vows. Little did we know just how much time and energy it would take to finalize all of the finishing details on the wedding. I took pictures and documented every detail that went into the wedding so I can share it all with you.

Here are some of the final results of the DIY projects that went into the wedding along with a quick recap of the day.

Giedre from Walking Dot Photography did an amazing job capturing all of the details of the day. You have to check her out and if you live in the Chicago land area, you have to give her a call and set something up. Or if you are every just passing through, you won’t be disappointed! You can also check out more the pictures from out big day Here!

The way I look at a wedding, it is the biggest and most fun party that you are ever going to through with all of your friends and family. Now marriage, that is a completely different thing. Brandon and I not only prepared for the wedding but for the Sacrament of Marriage as well. I will go into more details about that later but I am officially restarting my Wedding Wednesdays! I am going to start from the beginning on every single detail for planning a wedding!

I didn’t want to post all of the pictures beforehand because I wanted everything to be a surprise for all of my guest as many of them read my blog and would have known everything I was doing. So now that the wedding is over and married life has started I can now share all of my secrets with all of you.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, make sure you subscribe and follow along so you don’t miss a thing.

4 Steps to Dress up Jeans and a Tee {My Style}

I can’t tell you how many times I don’t feel like getting dressed up in the morning. (probably because it is almost every morning. Without my energy tea I would probably never even get out of bed.) Maybe it is because when my alarm goes off in the morning I just want to turn it off and go right back to bed. So instead and in between snoozes I lay in bed thinking about what I am going to wear that day. Aka, getting my beauty rest and not getting dressed.

Once I actually get moving, all I really want to do is just throw on a pair of jeans and T-shirt.  What I find works best for those days is simply dressing up a casual outfit. That way I can still be cute and comfortable with just a few minor adjustments.

Here you have your basic skinny jeans and tee.

Jeans and a White T-Shirt
First, throw you hair up into some sort of messy half-up half-down style.

Halfup Halfdown Hairstyle

Put on some earrings.

Simple yet sleek style

Add a few bracelets.

I love all of the gold accessories.

Then step into so some comfortable wedges to complete the look.

These tan wedges are so cute!

And that is how I dress up jeans and a tee in just 4 simple steps.

I would wear this outfit

Now I want to challenge you to do the same. Take a casual outfit and dress it up with these same steps. You can #BeautyBlondieCuteAndCozy on Facebook, Instagram or Twiter to show me your style. I would love to see some of your casual outfits.

Do you like to dress cute and cozy like I do?

We Bought a House! {The Johnson Home Tour}

We bought a house!

I thought that this day would never come. Brandon and I have been looking at houses since January 2013. With many fallen through offers on many different house, Fanny May finally excepted our offer on this house back on May 15, 2013. Being a for-closer home we knew that this house would take a little longer to close, although we never expected it to take this long.

On September 13 (which happens to be Friday the 13th) and just 6 short days after our wedding, Brandon and I became home owners to this beautiful house. Okay, maybe beautiful isn’t quite the word that describes this house quite yet. The previous home owners couldn’t leave without throwing a few, what looks like, wild parties.

Besides just taking a long time to close we also knew that this house would be a fixer-upper and that we would have to put a little extra hard work into this house to make it a home. Although I have to say that I am totally in love with this house and it has so much potential not to mention that it is also on a acre lot (Lot A) which pretty much sold us right then and there.

Our house 1

We love having the big yard for extra privacy, outdoor parties, bon-fires, camp outs  and a huge garden come the spring.

Our House 2

This is a 2 story colonial style house with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and it is just over 2000 square feet. Plus is has an unfinished basement that has 9 foot ceilings and is just over 1000 square feet in its self.

From the main entrance off to the right, this is a full living room and dinning room.

Here is the dinning room and living room facing towards the front door.

Just off the dinning room is a full kitchen with an eating area and a floating island.

Off the kitchen is a connecting family room with a stone fire place.

The main floor also has a laundry room (not shown), a closet (not shown) and this powder room.

20131015-152927.jpg

Straight up the stairs is the first bedroom (aka – the salon room)

Kiddie-corner  from the salon room is the second bedroom (aka – the office).

20131015-152947.jpg

Right across from the office is the guest bathroom.

Down the hall and to the right is the 3rd bedroom (aka – the guestroom and eventually a baby’s room)

20131015-152958.jpg

Last but not least is the 4th and final bedroom (aka – the master suite) with His and Her closets as well as a extra linen closet and vaulted ceilings.

20131015-153006.jpg

The master bath also has His and Her sinks as well as a skylight, which I love all of the natural light when I am getting ready in the morning.

20131015-153011.jpg

And to complete the tour, is the back of the house and our EXTREMELY HUGE DECK! 😉 lol I know we are going to have some wild parties on that deck, it is a great entertaining space.

There you have it, that is our Johnson Home Tour!

For being our first place, I couldn’t be happier! This is a lot to do when it comes to fixing the place up be we are young and up for the challenge.

I Washed My iPhone

Every story has a beginning and my started one afternoon after a long morning of clients and then shopping. I brought all of the bags home and placed them on my bed, along with an almost empty double insulated cup of energy tea. It wasn’t long before I noticed the tea had fallen over and spilled all over the bed.

So…. Naturally I would have to take off the sheets and throw them in the laundry. I would say about 5 minutes later I realized I couldn’t find my phone anywhere. After calling it a number of times, it dawned on me. The last place I used it was in my room and I set it on the bed. I ran down stairs opened the top loader washer and stuck my hand in praying that it wasn’t in there. After moving it around for a while, I felt something hard. I knew what I had done! I had washed my brand new white iPhone 5 in the washer with the sheets.

Did I mention that was the phone my Husband of less than a month had given me for my birthday? After days of it in a zip-lock bag of rice, I took to it to Verizon store to see if it would work. Not only did it not work but it was completely fried to the point where they couldn’t get anything off of it. Plus I never turned on my iCloud so I lost all of the pictures on the phone from the most important and eventful month of my life. RIP iPhone 5

20131016-195125.jpg

I shared my tragic news on my facebook page and apparently I am not the only one who has gotten their phone wet in some way, shape or form. Although no one fried their’s quite like I did.

20131016-195145.jpg

So… I paid the deductible and had them send me a new phone. I love my husband for knowing me so well and for being so understanding (even before I sobbed my whole story to him) He bought insurance when he bought the phone. And to top it all off, they sent me a black iPhone instead of the white one like I had. Just my luck.

20131016-195201.jpg

Now I have to ask, have you ever got your phone wet? If so did it fry the whole phone or am I still the only one?

Until next time…
