3 Ways to Add a Pop of Color to Your Outfit {My Style}

Winter is getting close! I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by. In just 4 weeks it will be Christmas.

Last week I showed you a little bit of my fall fashion and the wonderful colors of fall. Well… with the weather getting colder I still like adding a punch of color to my winter wardrobe. Today I am wearing teal with grey. I love wearing neutral colors and adding a pop of another color. It is a fun and easy way to change up an outfit.

There are 3 colors I have a lot of in my closet and they would be black, white and grey.  They all mix and match perfectly together and they also go well with almost every color of the rainbow. That way when I am shopping I can buy the nicer quality clothes in neutrals and the fun less expensive close as my pops of color.
I love Grey and Teal together!
For an example, jewelry and undershirts are a perfect way to add a pop of color to your outfit.

Adding a scarf is another fun way to change up your look!

 This is such a cute scarf with this grey coat

When you put the 3 things together it is a great combination without over wear the accent color.

Teal and grey are so cute together

Coordinating the your jacket and boots together is a great way to pull the whole outfit together!

These are such cute grey boots. I love all of the buckels

I love being able to wear my boots again. I also love adding leg warmers to an outfit to add color, keep you warm or tie an outfit together.

Does it get cold where you are at? Do you need to wear warmer winter clothes like I do? If so, what is your favorite piece to wear?

Energizing Caramel Apple Green Tea

With a chill in the air, there is no better time than the present to sip down the warmth of a Caramel Apple Green Tea. Personally I love drink hot tea in the colder seasons. It warms me up and keeps my blood flowing.

Bring the water to a boil. Pour the hot water into your mug and add the energizing green tea. Than take a spoonful of caramel and stir it into the tea. To finish it off add the apple slices into the mug  and sprinkle with cinnamon. Once everything is combined together let it sit for 5 minutes to cool off and absorb all of the flavors.

That is all there is to it. It is really that simple.

I am pretty sure it is safe to say that I am defiantly a tea gal more than I am a coffee gal. I love that this green tea gives me energy but doesn’t make me jittery.

What about you, would you say that you are more of a tea or coffee drinker?

The Colors of Fall, Fall Fashion {My Style}

One of the main reasons I love Chicago is the fact that I get to take advantage of all four seasons. All of which are beautiful in their own way but if I had to choose my favorite, it would defiantly be fall.

For those of you who don’t live in a place that has the privilege of seeing all of the wonders of fall, let me try to paint a picture for you.

Imagine a place where every leaf has been touched by the sun, where the leaves are  no longer just green upon the trees. They’ve changed into a burnt oranges, radiant reds, beautiful browns and gorgeous golden colors. The air is cool and crisp and sometime after they’ve change in colors… The leaves begin to fall leaving the ground just as pretty as the trees.

That my friends is a small piece of fall…

I love the color of Fall

With the weather being cool and crisp, a light jacket is usually in order. For today’s look, I chose a dark orange dress with brown cowgirls boots and a brown belt cinched at the waist. To top it off I added a short jean jacket with a loose off to the side braid with curls. This outfit is personally one of my fall favorites.

The perfect fall outfit, Cowgirl Boots, a jean jacket and a burnt orange dress cinched at the waist with a belt

I love that it is still warm enough to wear a dress without leggings. I also could have easily added a neutral colored scarf to this look if it had been chilly enough.

A great fall outfit.Fall fashion, Jean jacket, Brown belt and burnt orange dress.I love brown cowgirl boots!This is such a cute fall outfitWhat a cute and easy fall style

Anyways, I hope you are beginning to see some of the reasons I love fall so much and I didn’t even mention enough about all of the amazing other fall fashion trends. I guess that will be for another day.

Now I must ask, do you live in a place where you get to enjoy all four seasons? What would you say is your favorite season and why?

Half-up Half-down, Upside Down French Twist Hair Tutorial {With Video}

You are probably starting to realize that lately I have been on a kick of wearing my hair half up and half down or all the way up. My life, like so many others, is busy beyond belief. If you have misses anything, you can get the recap of my last month here.

I would like to share with you one of my go to styles, one that I believe is one of the easiest hairstyles to achieve. I like to call this one, my half-up, half-down, upside-down french twist. (try saying that 10 times fast, lol)

For this style, you will only need a teasing comb, a few bobby pins and some hairspray.

Half-up Half-down Upside Down Frech Twist Different Angles

For all of my email subscribers you can watch the video on how I achieved this style here!

To start, you will need your hair to be teased. It can be straight or curly for this style.
Start with teased hair

Section the hair in two sections, from the top of your ear to the top of your other ear.

Section Your hair from ear to ear.

Grab the hair with one hand as if you were going to put it into a pony tail.

Hold on to your section of hair.

Take that section of hair and twist it just like you would a french twist.

Twist your section on hair

Hold the bottom part of the twisted hair with one hand.

Hold onto the swisted section with your left hand.

With your other hand open the bobby pin up and grab a section of the hair from the twisted hair whit the bobby pin.

Insert the Bobby pin into the crease of the twisted part of the hair

Than tuck the bobby pin into the fold of the hair.

Make sure the bobby pin is secure.

Use as many bobby pins as you need to secure your hair. I use between 3 and 5.

That is all there is to it. It is truly that easy. This style can be warn somewhere fancy or just for everyday.

Do you think that this is a style that you would be able to not only achieve but wear?
