  1. Both you and Mary are precious! Thanks for such clear and concise instructions. One question…does the cut edge of the sweater not unravel, especially when you stretch it?

    1. It really depends on the sweater. I find that with the big knit sweaters they seem to unravel a little. Although when it is a smoother textured fabric I don’t have any problems! Good luck and have fun!

  2. I was wondering like the lady above, if you needed to wash it, will it unravel? Wondering if I should stitch the raw edge so I wouldn’t have that problem? LOVE this idea though, I have several sweaters that I’m getting ready to make cute fall leg warmers and infinity scarfs out of! Thanks for this tutorial!

    1. Hey Holly, Mine didn’t unravel, although if you feel that your type of material might than it probably wouldn’t hurt to stitch the raw edge. Thanks for following along.

  3. Love the video, and great easy idea for your favorite old sweater recycled!

  4. And it matches your leg warmers, cool. I just made some leg warmers and had to put a drawstring at the top because the sweater I used, had wide sleeves at the top and they kept falling down. It works well. Will be making a scarf next. Thanks!

  5. So cute!!! I love Mary playing with the scissors during the tutorial! LOL

  6. I was wondering if you felted (washed in hot water/dried in hot dryer) the sweater first. If it is felted (only works on wool), it will not unravel.
